Our Process
It is our mission to make the experience of choosing and designing a monument as stress-free as possible.
Where do I begin?
We understand you may be dealing with the loss of a loved one for the very first time and facing an overwhelming number of decisions. You might not have done this before and we will take the time to explain your options. With a computer-generated design, you can view your ideas in real-time, allowing you to make design decisions with confidence.
Designing Your Monument
The process of creating a meaningful design typically includes five important elements: shape, granite color, polish, personalization, and base. Our number one priority is your satisfaction with your monument design, whether you would like to be very involved in the details of the design or would prefer to allow our designer to make suggestions for you.
Shape
When choosing a monument one of the first considerations is often shape. Many times people are drawn to a shape which becomes the starting point for the design. Popular monument shapes include traditional serp tops, hearts, ovals, crosses and books. A monument shape also includes elements like beveled edges, tapered sides or curved corners.
Artwork and Font
Custom Etching
Cherished photographs can be preserved with exquisite detail with our diamond bit impact etching process. We work directly from your photograph and can even add/remove elements of the image at your discretion.
Ideas for etchings include: a portrait or the person being memorialized, the family home, a favourite location, special vehicle or much loved pet.
These will be added to your monument in stunning detail.
Porcelain Portraits
Polish
There are several options when it comes to the polish of your monument. All polished monuments are the most popular and feature all surfaces polished to a high shine. If you prefer the look of natural stone most monuments are also available with rock-cut ends and tops that feature the natural texture of the stone.
Base
You can choose a smooth, polished, or rock-pitch granite base. Grey granite rock pitch cut bases come standard with our monuments.
Granite Colors
This is an important consideration, as granite color will serve as the backdrop for your lettering and artwork. Below are some of our most popular granite colors but we have other colors available. We work closely with our suppliers to ensure our finished product is made with only the finest quality granite.
Jet Black
Jet black is our most popular granite color. It is the best choice for monuments that will include an etched photograph/image.
India Red
A rich red color, similar to the red soil and sandstone found on Prince Edward Island, India Rose is a stunning granite color.
Dark Barre Grey
A classic and elegant North American quarried granite makes a gorgeous color for a cemetery monument.
Imperial Grey
A slightly silver-toned granite that is a beautiful backdrop for monument inscriptions.
Mountain Rose
A light red with some gorgeous color distribution and variation. Quarried here in Canada.
Blue Pearl
A beautiful and unique blue granite with iridescent pearl specks distributed throughout that is sure to stand out and make people take notice.
